But when you share a child with someone — you don’t just get to walk away and never look back. He’s always going to be Marcel’s dad. And I’m always going to be his mom. After 2.5 years out of work, I don’t have stable income yet. And he can’t afford two households right now. So for the moment — we live together. Different rooms. No longer husband and wife. Just two parents trying to figure it out. Is it easy? No. Holding back in difficult moments, not reacting, choosing peace over being right — that takes everything I have some days.
