i personally hold the belief that when you are ready, they will let you rest, but always be receptive if you want or need to reach out again, and never be fully gone again... i just lost my little guy, to the same issue that i lost his littermate to two years ago in the same scenario, suddenly on February 8th this year so... 🫶🫶🫶

I stopped reaching out. It helped me when I need it to but there comes a time where I start to feel crazy and need to step back. But lately I keep thinking I felt my dog on my bed or saw him. Last night I thought I kicked him in bed and got really sad like damn he’s actually gone and it’s been a while since that’s happened. But it’s comforting to know we are seemingly living the same experience.

I think they only come while we need them. I’m glad your boy is still around for you. My dog Teddy told me in a dream to watch for blue eyes. I had no idea what it meant. Years later, I was visiting the shelter with a friend so HE could see a dog. I saw a husky, my least favorite breed, and was instantly infatuated. He came home with me. Around his one year gotcha day, I was going through an old journal and saw my old dream. This is my soulmate. I don’t dream of Teddy anymore, because I have Jack. Someday, I’ll dream of him, when I need him.

@Bee: I had to put my soul dog down in June last year. A few weeks later I lost it and was bawling and I told him how much I missed him. He was a bulldog. After I stopped, I opened Facebook and this came up. He’s visited me in spirit a few times, but I had to stop asking for it because I know he has things he needs to do. I try not to think about him anymore. Every now and again, I’ll look at his pictures. But I can’t for very long because I just lose it all over again

This was my girl kitkat. She showed up at my door as a kitten 10 years ago and was with me every day after. This was the last time she laid on my chest. My ex and I broke up 3 years ago, a couple days after this night. He took her when he moved out, and I kept our other cat, tootsie. There was a fire at his new apartment while he was at work, and she didn’t make it. Letting him take her is my biggest regret in this life. I still see her out of the corner of my eye sometimes but when I look, she’s not there. I hope she knows i didnt ever stop loving her. Im so sorry for your losses. You honor them by keeping their memory alive and talking about them.
