1) Put the water into the egg cooker first. Don't pour it over the eggs. 2) Place the eggs with the hole on top so it doesn't leak onto the cooker and prevents the egg from possibly cracking in the steam.

10-5-10 rule. Put eggs in boiling water for 10 min, let rest in the hot water away from the flame for 5 min, put in a bowl of ice water for 10 min. Perfect EVERY time!
