Honest to god, I’d get rid of the couch and replace it with a loveseat against the wall angled toward the tv. It’ll free up a lot of walking space and space for your barstools. With your bed in there, you won’t be needing much extra seating.

I would keep bed there, put back of couch against it, thatll close off bed kind of and also hide bed. it’ll also open up entire rest of apt as one big room

I’m surprised no one else has suggested this already, but you should really consider getting some couch pillows for your bed and just getting rid of the couch altogether. I think it could easily function as a couch if you turn it and decorate it kind of like this (and just take all the cushions off for bed/when company’s not over).

I know this isn’t the point but girl if you see this, I quit my job and moved states just so my old husky girl could have a back yard again. Ppl who haven’t had an aging pet don’t understand how it changes our decision making processes about everything. Wishing you joy as you settle into your new space!
