@trexfernando3: Am I the only one struggling to justify buying a house right now? 🏠 I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and honestly, I feel like there are more disadvantages than advantages for me at the moment. Between high prices, monthly payments, and the long-term commitment, I sometimes wonder if renting and investing the difference in the stock market makes more sense. Maybe I’m missing something, but I genuinely want to hear other perspectives. Are you buying, renting, or waiting it out? As someone who grew up seeing my mom na nakikitira sa mga kamag-anak minsan papalayasin pa... paulit ulit na ganito until the day she died (I was 11 years old that time) nag-promise ako sa sarili ko na magkakaroon din ako ng sariling bahay.
so nung 20 yrs old ako, I decided to get a rent to own property (this was in 2012). Single-attached yung bahay and 5k lang monthly.
Fast forward to 2026, the value of the property is now ₱3M+.
Wala lang, share ko lang na mas maganda talaga if may sarili kang bahay. Buy what you can afford, wag ka bumili ng ₱5–6M tapos mahihirapan sa monthly.

That’s the wrong mindset. Always choose stability. Do you think that when you get old and can no longer work, you’ll still be able to afford rent? Every generation, the prices and value of land keep increasing. Please end the cycle of passing the burden of renting on to your children. While you still can, invest wisely.

na realize ko din na once ma fully paid na ang property, the payments don't stop there (taxes, HOA, may fees din sa transfer sa name or pamana ng property, etc). it's like we own the property, but it's not totally ours 🫠

12k monthly via pag ibig then 2.2M lang sya noon. Depende talaga kung maaga kang nag acquire.

ayun na nga, ako po. renting din. I had a decision to invest in a house and lot noon. tapos one of my older friends na only child din like me advised na wag na lang kumuha. kasi in the long run, kanina pa nga daw mapupunta yung mga properties kundi sa amin din (na nagiisang anak). hindi naman sa counting the eggs before they even get hatched pero makes sense din po. at yun na din, di ko rin naman alam kung san ba talaga ako magse-settle. Rent is a better choice lalo na din if you're single.

Hello po, mas ok na unti unti mag save for House and lot or bili ka ng lupa, may ka roommate kami single mom mga 50’s na siya nung nagkasakit hindi nakapagbayad ng renta, mag allocate ng money for travel and retirement. Balance lang talaga, Good for you po marunong ka sa stocks hehe

I think baligtad, bagsak mostly ngaun ang investing sa stock market, and having owned a house eh mas assurance ka na may titiran ka pagtanda at ndi mo iaasa sa pamana o mga anak mo ang titiran mo.

ive been renting since 2016. Ngayon, way way better na salary ko pero I still choose to rent. I mean, yes its nice to have your own property, but ako na someone na hindi balak mag stay sa pinas, its not for me. And convenient sakin, since nakaka move ako kahit san ko gsto. kung bbli ako ng property, gsto ko muna tumira don sa area na un to see if the location is ideal or best for me. Wala pakong anak kaya cguro ganto mindset ko

Agree sa lahat ng sinabi mo. May chineck akong for rent noon, 15k monthly and sa same subdivision, pag rent to own nasa 27 monthly.

As a certified kwarentahin, I agree with you especially if you are still young. But when you reach my age you will need a place to settle down. Whether it be somewhere in PH or outside the country. When ur retired, that 15k rent wont be 15k anymore. So i agree, dont settle too early. Go travel and see the world then choose a place where you can call home and grow old.

im 26, depende sa bahay na gusto mo siguro. i live in a townhouse via pag ibig ₱7,100 monthly and kasama ko sa bahay yung parents ko and siblings. dati nagrerent ako 5k ako lang mag isa. depende din sa klase ng bahay na gusto mo saka sa situation. 30 years to pay yes pero mas mura kapag maikli pero thinking na in 30 years yung 7k ko siguro di na kaya magbayad ng bahay. im not married yet. tapos ginawa ko pinalagyan ko ng tindahan para nag gegenrate ng income yung bahay

Still renting here in Manila but I bought a farm estate kasi sobrang mura nung pandemic. Then yung tiny house, inuunti unti kong pinatayo para di na ako magloan. Currently, for landscaping na and pool. I plan to rent it out as private resort para kahit nagrerent ako dito sa Manila, may income na sasalo ng rent.
