You can see that they are really unwilling to take risks with their recent films. Hexed looks like Frozen because Frozen made a lot of money. The problem is that audiences aren't keen on seeing the same thing over and over again. Sure, they'll have plenty of families interested but even then, the tastes and whims of children are ever changing. Some of these films look more like they were made by accountants than artists.

On a trip to Disneyland, I believe it was in the California adventure side , there was an artist there drawing Donald Duck, which is my most favorite Disney character of all time, just showing off the old school step by step process. Don’t get me wrong I like some of the new stuff coming out but that artist right here is mostly what I have more respect for

i watched mulan again for the first time since i was a child, and genuinely was surprised by the quality & richness of story, animation, culture, especially considering the year it was released. disney would NOT make something like that today, even just the concept. i feel the same way about emperors new groove, it’s just so timeless.

This is why we need to put our money where our mouth is. Go to watch Laikas new stop motion when it's out, watch productions that have poured time and love into the film, don't watch crap like this just because it's Disney.
