@lostmaldivian: Some Israeli tourists in Siargao are starting to cross the line. Local businesses have every right to display whatever they choose in their own spaces. Removing a sticker from someone else’s property because you disagree with it, then proudly posting it online like it was some kind of heroic act, is disrespectful and immature. The people of Siargao are known for welcoming foreigners with warmth, kindness, and hospitality. Including Israelis. But being welcomed into a community does not give anyone the right to disrespect locals, business owners, or the values of the island. Traveling to another country means respecting its people, culture, businesses, and spaces even when you disagree. No one is above that. Entitlement and superiority have no place in a community built on respect and peace. I hope more Filipinos continue speaking up and standing with the locals of Siargao.
