someone recently asked me if i felt that more people respected me when my physique got better and i struggled for a while to find the right response. you see- my physique was not the only thing to develop, but also my character. two years ago is where this entire story starts. i had recently separated my ac joint in my freshman year of college football and lost nearly all of my internal drive. i played defensive end, but i came into the spring well under the weight that they wanted me to be. i had very little muscle mass, but also zero desire to change anything about it. it showed in a lot of the lifestyle choices i made then, which led to me not really being respected by any of my peers. one of my teammates at the time encouraged me to start lifting with him, as well as to start posting on social media. i owe him quite a lot of gratitude. over the last two years i have been restlessly at work attempting to create the best physique that i could, but in that pursuit i found something else: me. i realized that you can’t just change one portion of your life without it affecting the others (either positively or negatively). in this time i have grown a lot, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. so, yes i do believe creating a better physique allowed me to garner more respect and admiration from others, but i feel more so it came from who i have become inside, rather than out. don’t walk the same footsteps as yesterday, but find a new path forward. you can be anything in this world, so why not choose to be good? | new charge collection from @DFYNE live June 2nd - code chuckie
