The way I understand the current Crown, and possibly some of their parliament, is that they were exiled German Royalty from the First World War... Which to me would explain why they would do Appeasement with A.H. instead of just taking care of the problem. Not to mention anything about finances because we all know that's a trope to make things seem impossible, when we see them often instead use their riches for their lavish lifestyles.
