@sugarologie101: Russian Buttercream, or Condensed Milk Frosting, is made primarily of butter and sweetened condensed milk. Its simplicity makes it an excellent beginner recipe, yet it still creates a wonderfully stable frosting with an amazingly complex flavor. And I’ve seen all the comments about how this frosting can often feel and taste overwhelmingly buttery, so I’ve updated my recipe’s method to create a new lighter version of Russian Buttercream that melts in your mouth! As a Russian, I think everyone should understand that our condensed milk can be very different from Western condensed milk. Russian/Belarusian GOOD condensed milk consists solely of whole cow's milk and sugar. That's it, just two ingredients. There won't be any vegetable fats or other additives. This is something to keep in mind if you're trying to make this cream as intended.

This is my go to butter cream now ever since I discovered it about 2 years ago I haven't looked back. Using dulce de Leche instead of regular condensed milk is the best!

I’ve only had it once in my life, when a Russian classmate back in 4th grade brought cupcakes to class, it’s only now clicking that it’s Russian buttercream because i was sooo shooketh about the condensed milk taste and never tasted it in frosting before. Still think about it 2 decades later 🥹🥹
