@voka.io: Dental caries is a localized infectious and pathological process causing the destruction of hard tooth tissues. Lack of treatment at the initial stages inevitably leads to deep bacterial invasion and the development of pulpitis — inflammation of the neurovascular bundle. Subsequent pulp necrosis causes a false subsidence of pain, masking the expansion of the infection beyond the apex (root tip) directly into the bone tissue. The development of apical periodontitis and an odontogenic abscess represents a critical purulent-destructive complication. Early sanitation of the infectious focus prevents irreversible damage to the maxillofacial region. #dentistry #caries #anatomy #medicine #pulpitis #3danatomy
