I’m a new mom to a two month old and I’m single and everything is on me. What I planned for during my pregnancy is not my reality and I’m OK with that. I planned to breast-feed for at least a year I planned no screen time at all just constant engaging with my child but what I didn’t plan for is me still having to do the chores me still having to take care of me me still having to take care of our clerical responsibilities pediatrician appointments, daycare tours work related things so that I can return to work in one piece. No one told me about this part and the crazy thing is I planned to do it alone, but it’s clear this is not a job for someone by themselves it’s just not and that’s why Mrs. Rachel and the other lady who does Christian related learning videos are a great help and I don’t feel bad because it’s not mindless TV. Shes literally learning lmshe’s getting smarter also as a compromise sometimes I will just play the sounds and not the videos but overtime like the videos are needed because Mrs. Rachel and other teachers on there, are showing things that are important for kids to see to kind of like make that connection of what they’re hearing so its my sacrifice. Having that on helps stimulate my child when I’m unable to because I just literally have to do everything and at the end of the day, she’s learning like the amount of words that babies need to hear in order to develop a good vocabulary. I don’t even talk that much when I’m alone like that shit is taxing. No one warned me about that either. Sometimes I’m quietly planning everything is in my head. I’m shopping , planning for her baby dedication, I’m calling churches. I’m planning like I don’t talk while I’m planning. I don’t always wanna talk anyways confessions of a mom. We are so strong.
