I 100% don't agree. I always edit as I go. It helps to have context to move forward. Not everyone has the same process. If anyone reading this comment edits as they go too and it's the best process for you, keep on keeping on!!!

People forget that writting isn't a marathon. We qrite because qe like writting and EDITING too. I'm not wasting time. Because I'm enjoying the whole process as I like. When I get paid to qrite under a schedule I might think about it. Otherwise, no.

so true. I did this twice with two different novels and ended up regretting and just putting them away. my current wip is a mess no planning at all just writing. editing is going to be a mess but my draft is going great

Un my case, I’ve finished my first draft at the beginning of 2025, and finished my third draft one week ago. Between the first and the third, i kept editing chapters when I had to go back to read them for those on which I was still working on. Right now I am in the middle of the last reading —and hence "small" editing— before sending it to beta readers.

my wip novella is experimental and using chapters that are more or less unrelated to one another, so sometimes i would be in the middle of writing one chapter and then realize “wow that other chapter would sound so well if it was moved somewhere else” 🫨
