Two days he couldn’t stand. Today he did. I’m sitting with him at the sanctuary right now. Two days ago this horse couldn’t lift himself off the ground. His legs shook, his body gave out, and every attempt ended with him collapsing back into the straw. We stayed with him, lifted him, cooled him, kept him talking to us so he wouldn’t give up. This morning he pushed up on his own. It took him a long time. He trembled the whole way up. But he’s standing. Standing isn’t the end of it. It’s just the start of the hard part. He’s weak, dehydrated, and his muscles need days of careful care, fluids, feed, and vet checks to make sure nothing else breaks down now that he’s on his feet again. We’re doing all of that here at the sanctuary. Here’s the part I don’t want to say but have to: we don’t have the funds to keep up this level of care for much longer. We’re a small team, and every emergency pulls from the same pocket. People send messages and prayers, and I’m grateful you care. But prayers don’t cover the vet bill, the feed, or the hours our workers spend watching him through the night. If you can donate today, you’re keeping him standing. Not just physically, but giving him a real chance to recover and stay that way. Even a small amount helps us buy the next bag of feed, pay for the next checkup, and keep someone by his side. He fought to get up. Let’s fight to keep him there. I’ll post another update tomorrow. If you want to help, the donation link is below. https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=4ZS2LNGASKAN8
