For a long skirt like yours, lightweight shoes with a low heel — preferably 5–7 cm (about 2–2.75 inches) — would be best. That would make the overall look more harmonious. Your black boots weighed the outfit down and the skirt got lost against them. (Of course you’re free to wear whatever you find comfortable or appropriate.)
