My bf and I both work full time. I also watch both younger kids while working (remote). I do all the grocery shopping and cooking, folding laundry. He does dishs and washing the laundry, and helps clean when we deep clean. Because he shares the load we get to spend more time together and both have more energy for each other.

I also see alot of the sahd or single dads actually have help . their mom's or sisters come help them. and yes the mom's will still be doing the mental load. having to tell dad's or husbands when to make appointments what will b for dinner or get groceries. its not the same at all

Does he think WE don’t do laundry and dishes every day? In my household of 5, I do laundry almost every day, and dishes stg that dishwasher is running at least twice a day, FULL load, on an average day. Cleaning happens in a circle ⭕️, it’s ongoing and neverending.

As a sahd rn; my wife doesn’t have to do ANYTHING when she gets home. (These kids are gonna kill me with exhaustion.) laundry takes so long bc of course they wanna help, but they don’t have the motor skills to fold 😮‍💨 these kids are HARD. Working is 100x easier. At least my coworkers were adults who wiped their own butts 😂

Yeah we switched roles at one point. I worked nights as an RN and still did mostly everything. He would take the kids to school when I was working, and dishes like 1/3 shifts. And come WITH me to practices, but never offered to just take them and let me stay home
