I mean idk what its like for asians im guessing u guys can get away with using tone up creams which im not against they arent harmful or anything its like a pale tan. In many african countries they like the idea of looking lighter skinned and obviously we cant use tone up cream we’d look ashy😭 so they resort to bleaching creams, i got gifted it when i was 12 and developed an addiction to it now im shades lighter its insane. But this is why im truly against it its horrible. But yea tone up cream is equivalent to tan u cant judge one and not the other

if you're naturally pale and protect your skin then you're good but there're a lot og people who use bleach because of society beay standards where they live and even start injecting some liquids trying to be pale even tho we don't know if it's that safe and tanning is just frying your skin like the french fries honestly

i honestly dont see a problem in that but whitening is kinda like tanning it can also damage the skin but just protecting it is actually the best thing to do

Obviously everyone should wear sunscreen and avoid tanning salons to protect themselves. But obsessively making sure that your skin doesn’t naturally go through different shades during different seasons plays into colorism and beauty standards that we should be unpacking.
