@mrcraiggoodwin: 6 questions to ask before hiring anyone. Skills you can teach. These questions reveal everything skills can't. 01 → Can they tell you about a failure? How someone talks about failure tells you more than how they talk about success. Listen for ownership versus blame. Listen for what they learned versus what happened to them. 02 → Why are they leaving? Push past the polished first answer. "Seeking new challenges" tells you nothing. The real reason — if they'll share it — tells you everything about how they handle difficulty and what they actually value. 03 → What would they change about their last role? This tests critical thinking without threatening them personally. People who can't name anything either weren't paying attention or aren't comfortable being honest with you yet. 04 → How do they handle ambiguity? Ask for a specific example. Not "how would you handle" — what did you actually do. Early-stage and fast-moving roles need people who can move without a complete map. 05 → What do they do outside work? Not to judge the answer. To understand how they invest in their own development and what they're curious about. The best hires tend to be genuinely interested in things. 06 → Do they ask good questions? The questions a candidate asks in the interview reveal more than almost anything they say in answer to yours. Curiosity, preparation and genuine interest all show up here. Which one do you always ask? Comment below 👇 #hiring #leadership #entrepreneur #ukstartup #founderadvice
