@fly.goldseal: The center of gravity, or CG, affects stability, control, and performance. 🛩️ A forward CG means the aircraft is nose heavy. To balance that heavy nose, more tail-downforce will be required to keep the plane level. More downforce means heavier and more pronounced control inputs along the longitudinal axis. Simply put, that means your elevator will feel heavier or require more trim to hold the nose up. This additional control input increases the angle of attack and, ultimately, increases stall speed compared to a more balanced CG. Conversely, an aft CG makes the aircraft tail-heavy, with lighter control feels, potentially making the plane harder to control, especially during recovery from stalls. A CG too far aft can reduce stability, making spins difficult or impossible to recover from safely, especially if the CG is aft of the limits. You simply won’t have effective elevator control forces to reduce the angle of attack. As the CG moves aft, an aircraft becomes less stable, and this decreases the aircraft’s ability to correct itself after maneuvering or turbulence. The aft CG limit is the most rearward position where the CG can be located for a critical maneuver or operation. Here are the key points to remember: • A forward CG increases drag, requires more lift, and raises stall speed. • An aft CG may slightly improve fuel efficiency but also decreases control sensitivity and stability. • Always verify your CG falls within the loading envelope to ensure stability and safe handling. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - #studentpilot #flighttraining #privatepilot #learntofly #centerofgravity

𝒜𝒽𝓂𝒶𝒹 🎩 :
You said forward CG so more nose heavy , so the aircraft tend to pitch down , then why the AOT increase not decrease ?
