In English… not so much. pan /pæn/ ≠ pen /pen/ bin /bɪn/ ≠ bean /biːn/ cup /kʌp/ ≠ cap /kæp/ sheet /ʃiːt/ ≠ shit /ʃɪt/ And yes, sometimes the misunderstanding is not a misunderstanding at all. The problem isn’t your “accent”. It’s that English has vowel sounds Italian doesn’t have, so your brain naturally tries to replace them with the closest Italian sound.
