Oh great so I'm going to have to fight even harder to have it replaced after 2.5 n cause I use it to ease/stop my periods and the hormone levels drop enough that they come back then 😒

I'm honestly not sure I'll be able to train my brain to believe that my implant will be OK for up to 5 years. During covid, I went just 2 months over the '3 year mark' and I was riddled with anxiety to the point where I was actually experiencing 'pregnancy' symptoms. Thankfully I wasn't pregnant, but I don't think I could go through that again.

i want to make sure, does this mean that only the new implants that are being made from now will last for 5 years, or will an implant put in before these new guidelines also be functional for 5 years?

my clinic just rang because mine ends in September this year and they said I cannot get it out I have to wait the 2 extra years, I'm scared though because my periods get back to normal when it's coming up to the end of changing it 😭 has anyone actually left if 5 years that hasn't gotten pregnant?? 😭

I have the implant and it didnt stop my periods at all. If anything, it made them MORE regular. My old cycle was around 35 days, on the implant its every 28. Should have stuck to the progesterone only pill, I only had one every 6 months 🥺

I had my implant changed on the 5th May and the hospital said it runs out in 3 years. Just my luck 🤣

Great it’s going to be even harder to get them replaced early as they never last the 3 years for me anyway and they were trying to force me into a Mirena which is totally unsuitable and dangerous for me.

With the implanon I started to spot a lot 12 months in so longest I could keep in was 2 years because it was a problem. At one stage (during Covid) had to have the pill alongside it to function a human.

so ive had mine 3 years December just gone im currently waiting for a appointment as the doctors said they no longer do replacements at the surgery so ive been referred to a clinic. I contacted the doctors in October im still waiting to hear 😫 currently on the mini pill as a back up x
