crazy cause what you are saying gets brought up in the recent comic "dcko: red hood vs joker". Jason acknowledges that the joker will always survive or come back, so he's done. this is a mainline comic that is implying that Jason is over the joker, he can't waste time thinking about him anymore.

Also marketing aside I do think he's a more interesting character for it, and I think it's also just better storytelling, at least in my personal opinion, to have recurring villains he has a developing and changing dynamic with over like, everyone being a one shot villain. It serves many purposes.

this is true. all popular characters who have famous rogue galleries have a no kill rule. batman, spiderman, superman, daredevil etc. characters who dont have a no kill rule, dont really an expensive villain list. think punisher, wolverine, deadpool, Constantine, dr strange, thor. obviously theres exceptions but generally it fits

That and to be honest he kinda got a point about if he starts just offing he might not be able to stop. I mean his rogue gallery know he’s Bruce they just don’t do nothing about it because they all agree like hey Batman is the real him and if you take his persona away it’s just 100% Batman. His own gallery knows the dude is a psychopath.

I'm surprised they didn't figure this out. Everything is about money, that's why the most popular characters don't officially die off. If anyone dies, it's the less popular characters.

This is true, and just as an aside its also boring to have villains permanently exit stage left too readily. I would argue one of the MCUs major problems was offing villains in their debut and doing essentially nothing with them.

And that’s the reason why popular characters like Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man for example if they die the death won’t be permanent or they’ll come up with some way to bring them back to life.

I think this is actually why Wonder Womam doesn’t really have a concrete arch nemesis, like yes El Lobo and The Cheeta are there but we all know Diana doesn’t play so these guys usually aren’t extreme threats like the Joker or Lex Luther. Ares is the closest one but man get that dude out of here 😩
