@paulabflory: Is it weird for a Grandma to have a play date with other moms? I mean, I have friends of all ages and honestly when I was a SAHM I’d have loved to have a grandma friend who cared for a child my kid’s age to have play dates with. But not sure. I lived in the suburbs and this is in a city? Does that matter? Am I overthinking this? Like, who cares, right? If they think I’m a weird old lady they can make an excuse and say no. I definitely enjoy being around young people but not sure it goes both ways. @Pampers @Fisher-Price @Janie and Jack
You could also maybe find an older nanny like I’m 56 as a nanny and I’m always up for becoming friends with moms grandmas other nannies as it enriches the little ones lives to do fun things together

Definitely ask ! All they can do is say maybe sometime? Or they will be excited for company. You might be surprised they may not be close with a mom or actually lost one and want an interaction that would give them some perspective.

It wouldn’t be creepy! I’m a nanny and also a Grammy. When I go places with my grandkids I’m often surprised to find the people I think are the moms of other children are actually nannies. Strike up a conversation with the caretakers of the kids she likes, exchange numbers and just ask if you can meet at the playground or whatever at a regular time.
