My mom has an incredible relationship with her work. And when her mom (my grandma) went on hospice, her work quite literally said “we’ve got you covered, you take whatever time you need.” And my mom was able to be with my grandma every day (almost) the entire month before she died. A good job like that is SO rare. Empathy costs NOTHING 😩

I remember once one of my staff members, her grandmother died, and I went to tell my boss that she was not going to be in, and my boss literally said, well, her grandmother was old, she should have been expecting it...I was so shocked

I have never struggled. Had to budget, yes. Actually struggled? No not really. But when I fantasize about winning the lottery, the first thing I imagine after being able to quit my job and pay off my house is helping other people out. That's the dream to me. Being able to change people's lives and give them breathing room. I don't understand the folks who don't think that way tbh. Secure your life, for sure. You gotta look out for you. But once you're secure? Help others.

Listen! Speak on it. I’m currently 40 plus, divorced, in college, working FT, and I receive no child support. It’s me, clocking in, studying, walking to school and work ONLY to have maybe $8 left after paying bills. But I’m going to keep going! 💅🏾
