I don't think she wasn't milder when she wrote her open letter, she wrote it as a defence after she'd accidentally posted some pretty extreme stuff on twitter, and was trying to keep up pretenses that she pretty quickly realised she didn't have to

It's not just that her opinions are harmful due to her power, but that's she's actively using her money to fund anti-trans hate groups, and has stated that HP profits will be used to fund legal fees for those claiming discrimination by trans women.

It’s so obvious that she was radicalised and drawn by other terfs deeper and deeper into their hideous movement. She got a big backlash to her mild transphobia, and recoiled, and nobody was there to comfort her and soothe her and reassure her except people like Maya Forstater and Helen Joyce
