pretended to get my period at 11 because I wanted to leave school and we'd just learned about it, didn't think it was that big a deal, got the newest doctor who dvd for being brave...little did I know id have to pretend and "use pads" for another four years so I wouldn't get in trouble 💀

completely related but a bit dark. my youngest sister died last year and for a while it was really impossibly hard. and anyone who has experienced loss through trauma knows this. So you start to not care as much about the things you used to find scary to say. so to distract my mum i would tell her about all the times i nearly died from dumb things. The times i took D-rugs. when i got roofied in bankok and was luckily fine. all the things that's happened during travel. she was shocked at first but then started to share her stories. I guess it took perspective to open up.

I told my mom what I did. She said "no you didn't." Yeah we did. Me and a friend decided to go out for a walk as 9 year olds on a sleepover in Wingham Ontario at 3am in 1985.
