@runwithduke: The Rio Grande is in crisis. Texas is investing aggressively in desalination and long-term water infrastructure while New Mexico continues to rely on hope, politics, and short-term thinking. Water security is economic security. If we want to protect agriculture, growth, jobs, and future generations, New Mexico must begin investing now in desalination, reuse technology, storage, and modern water infrastructure. Texas is building. NM is waiting. Desalination is not optional anymore. Protect the Rio Grande. Build the future. #fyp

Boy you are way off base! You need to stop all that fast run off! You need to have holding ponds galore! Every action the city takes should be to stop evaporation and run off. You need to rehydrate the land. ABQ sheds water too fast.!

look it up. back in the day, some rich people decided they owned the water and they sold it to some other rich people in Texas. look it up.

We already do desalinate. While I agree water is imperative, desalination is not our saving grace and never will be. We are INLAND. That would be an incredibly energy expensive endeavor, also what are we going to desalinate if there is no water? The water is over allocated, plain and simple. Start there.
