people in my country are already not taking their cars because they can't afford today's price, if it goes any higher a lot more people will stop going to work because they can't afford to even go. Global economy in shambles by the end of week one. Let's hope it doesn't come to that

We're currently dipping into a surprisingly well stocked reserve right now (not just the US but a lot of countries) and it's kept supplies in control. Reserves go below operational levels (point of no return) somewhere around September. Refilling those reserves means prices won't come down for a long time. Basically it gets worse the longer this goes on, another 4 months and oil prices become unmanageable
