Keeping your eyes ahead of you on the road was not how I was taught to drive. Defensive driving includes keeping your eyes on everything all the time. I'm constantly checking my mirrors. I'm constantly making sure I know everybody around me on the road is. No accidents on my record. I pay very little for full coverage insurance because of my defensive driving skills. I can't tell you how many accidents I have avoided because I know where everyone is around me.

That’s gonna be a nope for me. I pull trailers often and am constantly checking my side mirrors, looking at the traffic around me. It’s what keeps me safe. Staring solidly out the windshield is not how one drives.
