Dostoyevsky? Kafka? TS Elliot? Everyone experiences and connects to grief, to sorrow, and we remember pain long after the smiles fade. We don’t celebrate wars ending because the good guys won, we do it to honor the dead, that their pain wasn’t in vane. The mother’s grief wasn’t for nothing. Love fades no matter how much we celebrate it, but we feel pain long after the scars heal.
