That was not nice. But don't go out to eat if you cannot give a tip. Most servers get paid under minimum wage and depend on the tips to make up the difference.

Tipping culture is getting ridiculous. Customers are being guilt-tripped into paying employees instead of restaurant owners paying a proper wage. Servers work for the restaurant, not for the customer’s payroll. A tip should be optional for outstanding service — not expected for someone simply doing the job they were hired to do.
