ive been making beef stroganoff for over 50 years. I always dust my steak with flour then I braise in olive oil, then I add onions and mushrooms, I add half a can of tomatoe soup, worstershire sauce, and garlic powder, after I simmer on low until t h e beef is tender I add 2 cups of sour cream. and serve over wide egg noodles.

Use SOUR CREAM not heavy cream - and you should add heaps of mushrooms after the onion before the meat. Thank me later 😂
