I have a 6 year old child and I bought him a water bottle which he had spoiled so I got another one I did not have money so I bought two things a bottle and shoes since his other shoes are abit small so I used the money I bought him a bottle and shoes then I brought it his always excited and says thank you but he never did instade he said you did not buy the other one I wanted and it hurt so much that he did not appreciate it like he always does and it hurt so much I did tell him you hurt me and he apologised. how do I teach him to be thankful even for little b things it really gets hard and I want him to be emotionally intelligent and also him talking about his feelings.

i got to a point in my life wheree I completely changed my parenting. I stopped shouting i stopped cursing i became a better parent. If there's an issue he comes straight to me even before he tells his guardians since I'm abroad and he's staying with my parents. He's more relaxed and i make time for video calls daily. We gotta do better as parents ,let go and let them have access to you as much as possible

My childs Teacher in grade 2 once told me my child is usually absent minded in class and looked stressed. On the days my child behaved like that, she realised were days there was no present parent at home that week. I was grateful to the Teacher for letting me know. Thank you you for sharing.

Well put 😊. It's essential that we offer our children an open door whether in school or at home. I once read a book 'Speak so that children will listen & Listen so that children will speak'. There's a teens version of the same.

Goal number one, create an environment that encourages your children to speak out whenever there is a problem. actually, encourage them to speak up against unfairness and injustice. Goal number two, avoid fighting or arguing with your partner in front of your kids.

my son's teacher told me my son is absent minded in class and a slow writer been trying to ask the child if something is wrong with him but anasema he's just thinking and being careful with his work.On my side am a mum who shouts can it affect him?

Once upon a time I was a child, I applaud you teacher. Teachers know the kid more that the parent do and charity sometimes start in school not home. You are a phenomenal teacher, true calling.
