ooof number 5 was my downfall until I read save the cat writes a novel, and how to write a good book. both of them made me realise that the first draft is supposed to be just that, not a publishable book the first time round 😆

My journalism professor told me my creative writing and English degree were ruining my writing. He was right. Dropping out was the best thing I ever did as a writer. Art can't flourish in a system bent on instruction over intuition.

Was studying creative writing there worth it? I’m thinking of a masters but the cost makes it hard to justify. I’m wondering if it helps with networking and getting into the writing industry like screenwriting and game writing too?
