@luna..ria0: Baldwin IV of Jerusalem (1161–1185), also known as “The Leper King,” was the King of Jerusalem from 1174 until his death. He became king at a very young age after the death of his father, Amalric I. Despite suffering from leprosy, Baldwin IV was known as a brave and intelligent ruler. He is especially famous for leading Christian forces during the Crusades against the Muslim leader Saladin. One of his greatest victories was the Battle of Montgisard in 1177, where his army defeated Saladin’s much larger force. Because of his illness, Baldwin’s health became weaker over time, and he struggled to keep peace and unity in the kingdom. He died in 1185 at the age of 24. Even today, he is remembered as a courageous king who ruled under very difficult circumstances.
