Safety. Order. Protection. Every time they say it, another one of our rights quietly disappears. The Constitution was written as a leash on power & now the leash is around our necks. Want to own a gun? It’s no longer a right, it’s a privilege. A privilege you only get after asking permission from the very institutions the 2nd Amendment was meant to guard against. Background checks, registries, arbitrary rules that change on a whim. You can be legally armed, doing nothing wrong, & get disarmed because of “officer safety.” That’s the justification. No crime, no threat. The burden isn’t on them to justify power anymore; it’s on you to prove you’re harmless. Guilty until proven compliant. It's all for "safety,” & safety means unquestioned authority. ICE & Border Patrol, sold to us as essential for national security, safety from illegals, protecting our communities, maintaining order. That power now reaches into the lives of everyday citizens. In the 100-mile “border zone”,CBP sets up checkpoints where they stop & question people about citizenship status. Refuse to answer questions & be pulled into secondary inspection, detained, searched or even caged, all without probable cause, just because you asserted your right to remain silent. ICE enter homes without judicial warrants, relying on administrative warrants (not signed by a judge)&, in some cases, forcing entry for arrests. When things go wrong & they do, U.S. citizens get caught up. Tackled, pepper-sprayed, or worse, caged for hours, or days, even after proving citizenship. People have been dragged to the ground, held without lawyers or family contact, denied water or medical care & accused of assault when they resisted or filmed. Charges often get dropped later, but the damage is done. All of it justified as “safety” & border protection, while the 4th Amendment’s protections against unreasonable searches & seizures quietly erode. We’re told we’re free, but we’re constantly supervised. We’re told we’re sovereign, but we need permission. We’re told it’s for our own good. They don’t serve us, we comply with them. The scariest part is they convinced half the population that this is what freedom looks like
