1) Time doesn’t heal (tools do). When I went through my breakup, I was constantly told that after enough time had passed, I’d feel better. But time passed & nothing changed UNTIL I started to change the way I was thinking  2) A relationship requires work, but it shouldn’t be HARD work. So if you felt like you were constantly fighting for it to work - then it simply wasn’t right 🤷‍♀️ 3) You don’t miss them, you miss the IDEA of them. Our brain loves to be right, and so if you’re wishing the relationship never ended, then your brain will try to convince you that they WERE perfect - including making you feel like you miss them & can’t live without them. But the truth is it’s not THEM you’re missing - it’s the relationship itself. 4) This isn’t the end of an era, it’s the start of a new chapter!! You can focus on what you no longer have as a result of the relationship ending, OR, you can focus on everything you can now do as a RESULT of that relationship ending… (Solo travel, move country, explore your sexuality, live alone…)  5) Stop checking if they’ve watched your story… Honestly, turn off ‘last online’ & read receipts on WhatsApp, restrict them on socials & remove their live location if you have it. Every time you check those things, it’s your brain trying to control a situation that’s no longer within your control. That’s always going to end up in greater pain, overthinking & heartbreak. So pick the more peaceful & more empowering route of beginning to focus on YOU. This isn’t to shame you. It’s to grab you by the shoulders and give you a little nudge 💛 #breakupadvice #mindsetshift #selflove
