@lisahannaofficial: I’ve never believed in excess for the sake of performance. So yes… I rewear my clothes. Often. Not because I can’t afford new things. But because I think we’ve normalized overconsumption and disguised it as lifestyle. The fashion industry now produces more than 100 billion garments annually. The average person now buy 60% more clothes than in 2000. As some ultra-fast fashion items are worn only 7 times before being discarded. Which results in approximately 100 million of tonnes of clothing in landfills annually while the world continues chasing “more.” At some point we have to ask ourselves: What exactly are we consuming so aggressively to fill emotionally? Because there’s a difference between style and consumption. Between elegance and excess. Between self-expression and addiction disguised as trend culture. I still love beautiful things. I always will. But there’s also something deeply sophisticated about intentionality. Keeping things longer. Buying with thought. Repeating pieces without shame. Maybe real luxury is no longer constant consumption. Maybe real luxury is knowing when more is no longer necessary.
