Having served as a lady-in-waiting to both Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn, her gentle and submissive demeanor offered a stark contrast to her fiery predecessor. Married to Henry just days after Anne's execution, she used her position to help reconcile the volatile king with his estranged daughter, Mary. Jane ultimately achieved what no other wife could: she provided Henry with his long-awaited legitimate male heir, the future King Edward VI. Tragically, her triumph was short-lived, as she died from severe postnatal complications just twelve days after giving birth.
