So. 300 horsepower is 300 horsepower. It takes X amount of fuel and air to make that power. It doesn’t matter if you do it with 4,6 or 8 cylinders. What does matter is how you get that air into the combustion chamber. 8 cylinders can easily draw in that amount of air. 4 cylinders need to have some kind of forced pressure to achieve that same amount of air. Thus increasing heat, wear and stress on internal components. Longevity and durability will suffer. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. A 300 hp turbocharged 4 cylinder engine is a very high performance engine. A 300 hp 8 cylinder engine is extremely mild. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to understand that. 👍

annnnnd thats why they are breaking so easily now because your having to squeeze all that power out of a engine that when naturally aspirated it makes 140 hp and your jamming a turbo on it to get to 300 and theeeeen putting it into a heavy a** suv or car

Not as reliable. It doesn’t get better gas mileage. It’s just cheap cheaper for the manufacturers so the manufacturers get more profit.

Id say 4cyl turbo should be in things that don’t pass the 4k or less weight limit putting a 4cyl in an suv is ridiculous especially in towing applications 😭😭😭
