It is always interesting to me how Armand is never quite right for anyone no matter what he does, whether he tries or not. He's not miserable in the right way for Lestat who loves miserable men. And he's too passive and uninspiring for Louis. Only Daniel really seems to like him exactly as he is.

Armand’s whole shtick is acting pathetic and passive, but always in control.. he also uses people as scapegoats as he used Lestat to get out of the coven and as he used Louis to get out of the theatre. He won’t leave by himself but he’ll use people as a way to leave the current position that he doesn’t want to be in without looking like the bad guy. As he used Daniel to get Louis to break up with him. he wouldn’t leave by himself someone always has to initiate the leaving

how fascinating that Lestat's disinterest in Armand's coven doesn't track with Lestat's own yearning for a type of community (even if it's mostly driven by Lestat desiring popularity/attention with regards to his art). I'd always read Lestat as being desperate to be together with other vampires in some capacity but other vamps having no interest in sticking around together. I suppose the coven's drab underground lifestyle wasn't glamorous enough for him 😭

Honestly? Him being manipulative but sincere makes him more likable to me even if it makes him “pathetic” or less likable to the other characters. At least he somewhat means well/is somewhat altruistic, you know? I don’t hate him anymore as much as I used to

If Armand let down his mask, if he stopped playing the victim and be himself like Lestat does. I feel like those two would get along more and I’m not saying what Armand went through wasn’t traumatic. B/c it was but he didn’t he’s himself, he let his trauma turn into anger. Vs someone like Claudia who went through trauma and also being stuck in a kids body but she over came it and tried to live instead of holding it against everyone and herself

when people say "Armand is the MOST vampire" their missing the point of the vampire chronicles, and specifically Lestat as a character. Lestat is definitively proven to be the "most" vampire early in the series. in fact, this realization is basically the resolution of book 4, in which Lestat becomes the only vampire to ever choose vampirism twice. when he makes that choice, to give up his chance to be human again and return, he is becoming the first vampire to accept the monstrosity in himself completely. he basically said "eating people and never seeing the light of day actually suits me" and he's quite literally the only one who feels that way. it's spelled out very clearly that every vampire on earth would take the opportunity to become human in a heartbeat, and granted he does, but he is the only one who would turn back because he was truly born to be a vampire. it's his lack of shame surrounding his nature after that point that makes it possible for him to inspire and charm the rest of vampire society. it's why they made him their prince. so no, Armand is not the most vampire.
