Resurrection is peak, my 2nd favorite film of last year. Bi Gan is easily one of the best directors working today, and this is his most ambitious and polished work, making it my favorite of his. Can’t wait to see what he does next.

It was SO DISAPPOINTING! Honestly. It was a collection of loosely related, incredibly beautiful films, with a weird and barely explained structure trying to tie them together. This intriguing premise, which you mention, is literally a translated placard. This future world? Dreaming? Immortality? Only in text on a card. This film is not at all what they are selling it as. Go see it as a collection of short films. They’re brilliant. Unfortunately I couldn’t get over my anger about the ridiculous, unnecessary, and completely stuck-on afterthought of an unfulfilled premise.

Watched this in cinema last week. Defo not everyone's cup of tea coz it’s quiet, slow movie but the way it’s shot is so beautiful and poetic and the scenes just stuck in my head for days.
