Here's more from Omotayo Alli, the executive director of the Georgia Public Defender Council, in her testimony about YSL defense attorney Angela D'Williams' withdrawal motion. D'Williams represents Young Thug's co-defendant Rodaliuis Ryan, and she's complained before about low pay. She said in jest last year that she was considering starting an OnlyFans page to supplement her income. She recently filed a motion seeking to withdraw from the case, saying the $55,000 she'd been paid for the case wasn't enough. She apparently did not realize that her contract gives her $55,000 every year, so she's not going to ever not get $5,000 a month so long as the trial is in session. Her lawyer, Leah Abbasi, took an aggressive approach with Alli, even going so far as to ask the longtime leader in juvenile law and public defense work how much she makes. D'WIlliams has made $110,000 already. Abbasi actually asks Alli how much she makes. The look on Alli's face! Also, the look Alli gives Judge Glanville when he actually says she has to answer this. Alli is the head of a statewide agency that has 60 offices, and she has a ton of experience. Law.com/ALM (my old place of employment) honored her with a Legal Trailblazer award through the Fulton County Daily Report. D'Williams, meanwhile, has her law firm's TikTok page dedicated to videos about which anime characters are going to jail. I'm surprised that Judge Glanville never closed the courtroom so he could ask Ryan directly about his representation. Judges I cover in Southern California absolutely would have done that. But in the end, D'Williams agreed to stay on as Ryan's attorney, so long as she can leave after the trial. You can watch more from Alli here: @Meghann Cuniff. And you can watch some of D'Williams’ opening statement here: @Meghann Cuniff. #ysltrial #youngthug #lawyer #legaltiktok
