Holding in the button when you are applying the handbrake reduces wear on the ratchet pawl so this is incorrect information.

My car is almost 6 years I always press the button when pulling up the hand break and as for parking I will advise people to do whats comfortable for them to do , thank you 😊

Most instructors did not learn about friction... so we don't blame them. The sound you hear when pulling the handbrake means teeths are grinding on each other therefore it means your handbrake will fail overtime.... my advice to those who care about their vehicle... PRESS THE BUTTON IN WHEN PULLING UP THE HANDBRAKE THEN LET IT CLICK AT THE POINT YOU FEEL IS MAXIMUM
