Sagehill Campground Experience and Tips We spent the weekend at Sagehill Campground (August 8-10) and had a blast. Here's a quick rundown of what we loved and some tips for anyone thinking of going: 1. Stonewood Lake: This lake was perfect for everyone dogs, kids, and adults. The water is calm (no waves or strong currents), so it felt really safe. It’s a great place to swim and cool off without worrying about anything dangerous in the water. 2. Campground Amenities: There’s a faucet to use for water, but no shower on-site. The toilets do have flushes, though. To have a little privacy, I brought a pop-up bathroom tent and a portable filtered shower for rinsing off after the river. Definitely recommend doing that if you don’t mind a little extra setup! Bonfires: Bonfires are allowed, which was awesome for hanging out at night. Just make sure you follow any fire safety rules. 3. Water & Hygiene: Bring your own water to wash dishes or food. We also used bottled water to brush our teeth better to be safe than sorry. Mosquitoes: There are a lot of mosquitoes, especially in the evenings, so definitely pack some bug spray to avoid bites. 4. Wildlife: We were told to keep an eye out for snakes. Brown ones are usually harmless, but black ones can be venomous. Luckily, we didn’t come across any, but it’s always good to stay alert. 5. Weather: It was hot during the day, but it cooled down in the evenings. Not too cold, just a little chilly. I’d recommend bringing layers in case. 6. Would I Come Back? Absolutely! Despite the few little things (no showers and the mosquitoes), I’d definitely return. It’s a peaceful spot, and the lake made everything so much better. Any questions or want more info? Just let me know! #camping #glamping #campinglife #campinghacks #santabarbara
