That church is disgusting. In addition to the Inquisitions and such organized by Rome, they maneuvered early on to establish legal frameworks with governments to enact heresy laws. Local town authorities would accuse individuals of heresy and sometimes work with a priest or bishop and people could be tortured, thrown in a nasty dungeon, or face financial ruin. Dozens of popes, in succession, did nothing to reverse this. So when you hear about a handful of bad popes, know that that’s a lie. There were dozens of them. And while this was going on, for over a millennium the pope was hoisted up like an Egyptian pharaoh and paraded around on the sedia gestatoria while being called “holy father” and claiming to promulgate infallible moral dogmas for everyone to follow and asserting that they are the “vicars of Christ” and the “one holy church.” This entity is Mystery Babylon. It is evil. They blaspheme God throughout history by committing atrocities and then calling themselves his vicars claiming to act in his name. They are the entity drink with the blood of the saints. Revelation says her sins are “piled high” and “remembered” by God. And the Bible has a warning to “come out of her”, because her history of corruption and evil is so horrible that just being a member there imputes guilt on the Catholic layperson.
