had the same issue with my husky. for being such a big dog he still takes each piece of kibble out one by one. and i’ve never been able to switch his food either. i tried to get him on a better kibble more suited for hip health, and didn’t have any luck. 10 different types of dog food later, we went back to our original. for medicine i’ve had to do peanut butter or tuna, and alternate when he figures it out. recently though, i’ve resorted to doing the same thing as you

Hey, I just found your account the other day and I’m really happy to find another paralyzed dog mom. I’ve been having issues peeing for my dog for the last couple of months I found out he had a UTI and I thought maybe that was the reason however I’m wondering if he could possibly have the stones like your baby had. What should I say to my vet to get this checked on?

several years ago my vet gave us the tubes they use! it’s a syringe with a rubber holder on it where the pill sits, it’s way longer than a regular syringe, you put it towards the back of their mouth & press the plunger, meds go straight down!! you should see if you can find something like that & it may make taking pills a little easier. my dog was the same way, it didn’t matter if it was chicken & beef..if there’s a pill it will be spat out 😂😂

Have you tried peanut butter? My poodle is a dainty picky eater too and this is the only thing that works. I trick her with a treat dipped in pb before I give the pill so she thinks it’s still a treat dipped in pb
