OK I just moved from West Palm Beach Florida to the Chicagoland area and let me tell you I have never experienced wind like the wind here in Chicagoland. Even during hurricanes (and I’ve been through 40 years of them ) we had wind basically from one direction it stops then it comes from the other direction and that’s it, it’s over The rest of time we get a mild ocean breeze. Here the wind blows hard A LOT of the time and in circles. I tried putting my back to the wind, to no avail, here. So saying that the Windy City originally started with politicians is fine but it is misleading to act like that is the only reason it is called the Windy City. Admit it it is a very VERY windy place.
