@sister..crystal: Replying to @markdavis3521 Vinegar is one of the clearest examples of Istihala in Islam. Something originally intoxicating undergoes a complete transformation into an entirely different substance with a different nature, purpose and ruling. And the Prophet Muhammad himself said: ‘What an excellent condiment vinegar is.’ (Sahih Muslim 2052) #halal #vinegar #muslimtiktok #revert #fyp
crystal: "no-one drinks a pint of vinegar, do they"
me: "no, of course not 😅"

I volunteer at my local repair cafe and I ask people if they object to me using an alcohol cleaner on their items - I don't know if it would be haram but people will always defer to their own interpretations so I give them the choice. when we operated out of the mosque I didn't bring it at all and just used other cleaners, including vinegar

I suppose Vanilla Extract is considered haram as even though it’s gone through the process, the process isn’t a complete Istihalah and it remains an alcohol - am I right in thinking this? Tysm for all your posts, been a fan for ages ❤️

Would alcohol free wines/ciders/beers ect be allowed? or are they too close? Because they can't intoxicate you either, they have the same alcohol content that you would find in orange juice. Just curious xx Love your content

how would using alcohol purely for cooking purposes be seen? as all the alcohol will evaporate thus won’t be consumed

Is it permitted to cook with wine, since the alcohol evaporates?

What about Kombucha? It’s alllllmost vinegar but could still have tiny amounts of alcohol — but nobody drinks it to get drunk

When I was pregnant with my oldest, vinegar was a craving but it gave me horrendous heartburn and now even the mention of it gives me heartburn.
