@numbsoul1: I may not have been born when the first Mobile Suit Gundam aired on April 7, 1979… but Gundam became part of my childhood growing up in the early 2000s. My journey started with Gundam Wing. Every after school felt like a race just to get home in time and watch the next episode. Seeing Bandai’s 50th anniversary tribute honestly hit me hard… it brought back so many memories I forgot I still carried. 🥹 My very first Gunpla was a tiny Wing Zero EW figure — smaller than 1/144 scale, pre-built, with rubber wings. It cost around 120 pesos back then, and I remember saving 5 pesos at a time just to buy it. Now that I finally have adult money, I’ve been lucky enough to buy kits I could only dream about before. Some people see it as “just a collection,” but honestly… it’s also healing my inner child one build at a time. 🥹 And because of Gundam, I got the chance to revisit the older series too — from the original Mobile Suit Gundam all the way to newer projects like Gundam Hathaway and its upcoming continuation. What I love most is how Gundam connects people. We build kits, watch series, share poses, make edits, appreciate details, and somehow become part of one huge community through plastic model kits and stories about war, hope, and humanity.
